Join us for the first session of NJPP’s Progress 2021 virtual speaker series, featuring Eddie S. Glaude, Jr., New York Times Bestselling Author and Chair of Princeton University’s Department of African American Studies, Representative Bonnie Watson Coleman (NJ-12), and New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy.
This discussion, moderated by NJPP President Brandon McKoy, will focus on ways lawmakers can center racial equity in the nation’s pandemic recovery. It’s no secret that, due to decades’ worth of racist and exclusionary public policies, people of color were more likely to be harmed both by COVID-19 itself and the subsequent economic fallout. As we chart the nation’s recovery, we cannot afford to go “back to normal” — we must be bold in addressing racial inequities and advancing policies that ensure New Jersey lives up to its stated values of diversity, inclusion, and prosperity for all.
